Mamavation Mom Week 2—It’s All About the Planning

The first week of the Mamavation Mom campaign was a bit more stressful than I anticipated. There was a lot of information to process and I found myself feeling a bit overwhelmed. It’s almost the end of the week and I am feeling a bit more secure about what I need to do. Today is the day I am going to get a complete grasp on the meal planning and meal preparation. This week is going to be a great week!

I ran a 10k on Saturday and I am really proud of my progress with activity. I feel stronger with the Mamavation workouts and I feel like am better able to fit everything in. Exercise is going really well!

I have some goals this week!

1. Keep watching my water intake! I am going to make sure I have water in my hand every chance I get.
2. Meal planning—I am going to get my meals planned out for the entire week and follow everything exactly.
3. Leave the scale alone. I have a bad habit of weighing myself everyday. That gets me really frustrated.
4. Don’t sweat the small stuff and know that it is all small stuff!

We got the program from Pete Cohen, Weight Loss Guru. It is the emotional component of the program and I am really excited to dive head long into the information. Also, I am going to bury myself in the information I got from Alysa from InspiredRD. It is all really great stuff!  Thank you to my mentors, the Mamavation ladies, and Leah.  This week I know will be a great one!

Here is my scale picture. Womp, womp, womp.

It is not a true reflection of things, as I usually gain 6-8 pounds during my period.  I am down a total of 6.5 pounds, so I cannot complain!

Here is my week two video.

  1. Planning & organizing really helped me get through the campaign, it was hard to figure out, for me, until the end of the campaign. Planning was my key so i can feel you frustration. You are leaps and bounds ahead now.
    Congrats on your 10k run.

  3. Planning and organization will be your best tools for success! Great job on your race! You’re doing great – keep it up!

  4. I am so bad at weighing myself too. We better watch out, Shelly told me on Mamavation TV Monday night and I quote, “Do not make me come after you!” I put mine in my closet until next weigh in!

  5. Congrats on running the 10k! Sounds like you have a good plan in order for getting everything organized! -Have a great week! :)

  6. Congrats on the 10K! I want to get back into running, so I’ll be sure to follow your progress to see how you’re doing. I have a hard time with planning out my nutrition further than just planning the dinners for the week. I’m seeing now that I need to plan all my meals, so hopefully that will help out also.

    Have a great week!

  7. I could use a kick in the pants with meal planning, that’s for sure. I’m so happy to see your progress, girl – keep up the good work!

  8. Awesome job with your 10k! Planning does help with the stress and time management. I found that doing all of my prep work on Sunday made the week go smoothly.
