I can’t even begin to express how grateful I am for the opportunity I have been given through Mamavation.
It took a solid day and a half for me to overcome the shock that I felt Monday night when I read my name on that Twitter stream.
The workouts have been great so far and some of the exercises bring back memories of Fitcation, darn tricep push-ups. The great thing so far is the awesome support I’m getting from the Mamavation Team, Mentors, Community, and my fellow Mamavation Mom, Rachel (@rachhabs).
I made a little video about it too.. Like to see it? Here is goes:
And of course, no initial Mamavation post would be complete without the dreaded before and after pics. I would only take pictures of myself half naked for Leah.
My measurements:
- Chest – 38.5″
- Waist – 40.5″
- Hips – 43.5″
- Left arm – 12″
- Right arm – 12″
- Left thigh – 23.5″
- Right thigh – 23″
My goal for this Mamavation Campaign is to lose 25lbs. I’d love to be down to 150lbs by then, but ultimately I will be 150lbs in 10 weeks no matter what! My big motivation for this campaign is a family trip to Hawaii in November.
As many moms, or women, can relate, when you are overweight you do not want to walk out on the beach in a swimsuit. Well, I’m basically done with that. I want to walk out on the beach behind our cottage feeling great about myself. And I know that with the help of Mamavation I will get there.
That’s why I definitely have to thank Earth Footwear (@EarthFootwear), Omron Fitness (@OmronFitness), and New Balance (@NewBalance) for sponsoring this campaign. These companies are helping bring my goals to fruition.

Ah, yes! The dreaded before… of course to be followed by the Ah-mazing after. Love your motivation and am so excited to watch your progress and cheer you on.
I’m shooting for those ah-mazing after shots!!
You’re still beautiful.
Congratulations, again.
Thank you so much.. it’s quite humbling to post a picture like that for all to see.. but it’s definitely motivation!
Go TIna!!! You are so beautiful and I can’t wait to see how you do over the next few months. Such an inspiration!
Thank you dear! If my flabby pics help just one mama make the decision to lead a healthier life than I have done my job
You look beautiful!!
I am excited to do this with you! We will be looking AWESOME when we take our after pictures!
We WILL look awesome! You are so right!
It is all about the small steps, and you’re going to do great! I’m so excited to follow along in your journey, and can’t wait to see you in your bathing suit for Hawaii!
I believe I shall adapt the Dori motto “Just keep swimming, just keep swimming”
You’re so cute!!! I love the Stewie beginning and ending of your video, LOL! I just “met” you but am so excited to follow your adventure, you’re going to rock it!
Thank you so much Sarah! You are total motivation not to suck at this
Congratulations! It’s great to see your first post and being willing to exercise in the wilderness is a great step, plus you get that good wilderness air that (I hear) is fantastic! I’ve always wanted to be someone who goes into the wilderness but my allergies make me more bubble boy than wilderness girl
I’ll live vicariously through you!
If you need anything (support, shoulder to cry on, whatever) hit me up. I’m pretty good at being supportive. When we support each other we ALL win! (I know, cheezy, right? LOL)
Thanks Jenny!
Working out while camping is great except for all the other campers in the campground walking by looking at you while you are doing burpees.. That, my friend, is a little awkward..
I think Mark spent too much time with Steve at fitcation cus he sure did step up our workouts….. But its a good thing right… You kicked ass for your first week and can’t wait to see the after shots… I know you will hit your 25lb goal before you know it
Dude.. next year we need to keep Mark locked up in the suite during Bootcamp
You are awesome! Excited to follow along on your journey the next several weeks. I know you’ll kick some major bootie!
Thanks Kristin! Eye on the prize right?? LOL
So unbelievably proud of you and can’t wait to see you kick some booty in the coming weeks!! You can do this!!
Thank you April! With all the Sista’s behind me I better do it, you all can kick my arse
Congrats! You’re going to do great!
Thanks Sarah!
I hate half naked pics too
but just think, before long you’ll be proud to take them! That’s what I’m looking forward to also
I anticipate that by the end of this thing I’ll be running around naked
I am excited to follow your journey. And a Hawaii trip would motivate me too, how exciting!! You are brave to post your pics, all of you!
It’s definitely an eye opening to see yourself ‘bare’ it all
.. It’s motivating though too, since I want to see some changes in the after photos!
Congratulations! Those tricep pushups are killer. You are off to a great start. If you need anything please let me know.
If I ever meet that person who invented tricep pushups I’m gonna kick’em in the nards.. #justsayin
Go get ‘em, mama! You’re rockin’ it!
I definitely prefer “rockin’ it” to “jigglin’ it”
It’s so exciting to get to watch the progress of someone I actually KNOW prior to the start of her Mamavation Mom “term” … I can’t wait to see the end results for you! GOOD LUCK, dearie!!! Also — the beach thing, I think that’s a great goal to have and you’ll look GREAT come November
Dude.. I want a stomach like yours!
