Nutrition is incredibly important to our health and fitness journey here at Mamavation, and last week we learned so much about how to choose the right foods to eat from Alysa Bajenaru, RD. These week we’re changing gears a little bit – we’re going to be talking about how to remove toxins from our household cleaners. Now we don’t expect you to set up a chemistry lab or anything, but with the help of the lovely and talented Research Manager Cara Bondi from Seventh Generation, we will learn all about what chemicals we should avoid, how to spot them, and how to make sure we have truly clean cleaners in our households.
Special Guest: Cara Bondi, Research Manager from Seventh Generation
Cara Bondi is the Research Manager for Seventh Generation in Burlington, Vermont and she is also a new mother! She’s a chemist who is great at sharing the hows and whys of chemicals that we should avoid in our cleaners – from VOCs to Triclosan. She’ll be on hand Monday to give us a rundown of different types of household cleaning products, the dangers that might be lurking within them, and how we can avoid the potential dangerous ingredients while still keeping our homes fresh and clean. Cara works for Seventh Generation – in case you’ve not heard of them (how could you not?!), Seventh Generation has been creating products that protect both our health and our environment since 1988. You can find their household and personal care products online, in supermarkets, and in natural food stores in the US and Canada.
Join us here on this post on Monday, July 29, 2013 at 7pm PST/10pm EST to watch the LIVE Mamavation TV show where Cara will be teaching us Cleaner Chemistry 101 so that we can make informed decisions on what types of ingredients we bring into our homes to clean. As part of our healthy detox and weight loss bootcamp, Cara is also our expert in a private coaching call for our three Mamavation Moms. Watch for their posts this week as they share what they learned and their reactions to the information they’re learning from our experts! You can also connect with Seventh Generation on Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest.
