Mamavation Moms Announced at Twitter Launch Party April 12th

Come join us for a Twitter party launching the 4th campaign of Mamavation on April 12 from 5pm to 7pm PST (Mountain Standard Time: 6pm to 8pm, Central Standard Time: 7pm to 9pm, OR Eastern Standard Time: 8pm to 10pm). In the last two campaigns, Mamavation moms lost over 85 lbs! We are changing the lives of families and excited to do it again! And on April 12th during the party, the next two Mamavation Moms will be announced and they will enter into @bookieboo‘s virtual healthy living boot camp for seven weeks. We will also have giveaway winners EVERY 5 minutes, organized by @Resourcefulmom. Use hashtag #mamavation for the party. (You have to be present to win!)

Mamavation is a weight loss campaign and social media experiment brought to you by Earth Footwear, The EA SPORTS Active & Smooth Fitness & Gaiam. The Mamavation campaign is a unique movement in social media. Not only does it support two moms (Mamavation Moms), it also supports the first virtual healthy living sorority in social media called “The Sistahood.” The Mamavation Moms are put though a 7-week healthy living bootcamp. The will receive a professional nutritional plan created by a physician that specializes in nutrition, Dr. Renna, and a fitness program created by Tracey Mallett. They will also receive two pairs of Earth Footwear, a treadmill from Smooth Fitness, an EA SPORTS Active, Tracey Mallett and Tae Bo DVDs. Their lives become a virtual open book with twists and turns and real life challenges they must overcome. The purpose behind the campaign is to inspire moms all over the internet to live more healthy. The program is managed by @bookieboo, Leah Segedie. Leah Segedie has successfully lost over 170 lbs. herself. She is no stranger to hard work and overcoming challenges in weight loss as a mom.

Mamavation Goes Green for Earth Footwear’s 40th Anniversary & Earth Day

Earth Footwear turns 40 this year. April 22nd on Earth Day to be exact. They have been around for 40 years providing the world with calorie burning shoes that are ALSO good to the environment. Wow, that’s a long time. I’m not even 40 yet. What an accomplishment. In honor of Earth Day, Earth Footwear challenged Mamavation to go “green” for campaign #4. This is a worthy challenge.

So where do we start? Well, first of all, everyone will be learning how to go green, including myself. I’m a fitness person, not a green person, so I’ll be learning how do implement green friendly choices in my daily life along with the rest of the Mamavation family. But we will need help, so if you have any ideas, please put them in the comments. And if you would like to offer yourself as a green expert, please let me know.

Luckily, we already have a member of the Sistahood that is very well versed in “green” knowledge and she is going to be a HUGE resource for us, Kia at @bodhi_bear. We are very lucky to have her. I’m getting a couple other green mom experts for us to utilize during the campaign, one of them is Rachel Lincoln Sarnoff at @ecostilettor. She is going to be launching another great eco-friendly site soon that is targeted specifically to moms called Mommy Greenest, so stay tuned for that on May 1st. (But sign up for her newsletter if you get a chance.)

And there are special giveaways. In honor of Earth Day and Earth Footwear’s 4oth Anniversary, the Mamavation campaign is going to get an additional 3 pairs of shoes. Lisa Loses 30.6 lbs: Would you like this to be YOU?

Mamavation starts from the second you apply. Lisa turned her life around the moment she submitted her application and pressed the send button. Her video was sincere and she meant every word of it. She wanted to change her life.

Lisa has changed her life with the help of the Mamavation team. It wasn’t easy, but in 7 short weeks she gained a lifetime of knowledge and gained her health back. Lisa isn’t finished yet, because she still has more weight to lose, but she has been given an incredible lift in spirits and she knows she can do this now. She now emerges as a mentor to the new crop of Mamavation Moms. She has gone through Bookieboo’s Virtual 7 Week Healthy Living Boot Camp and survived with knowledge to share and a new respect for her body and soul.

Here is what I liked about Lisa. When she applied, it wasn’t just about her. She made friends in the Mamavation Sistahood and continued to nurture those relationships. The support group was real for her and VERY important. She was genuine.

Please do not apply for the Mamavation campaign thinking this is a way for you to get a bunch of free swag. I’m looking for moms who are genuine, teachable, positive, and supportive of others. There has to be a genuine yearning on your part for a healthier life and the determination that comes with having to work hard to get it. @FrugalFemina’s Mamavation Post: Exercise Routine

A few people asked about my specific exercise routine after I posted about some of the DVD’s I’m using, so I’m sharing a few more details. Just remember, I’m not an expert. I just do what the bosses tell me. :-) But I can say that this routine is working for me! So far I have lost 10 pounds on the dot, and I’m loving that my pants are starting to be too big. I don’t feel deprived. I just feel GOOD and know this is something I can follow long term.

Mamavation Mondays: Dr. Renna’s Nutrional 101

Welcome to Mamavation© Mondays! Mamavation© is a campaign that supports moms in healthy living changes. We are a virtual healthy living sorority AND a virtual boot camp for the Mamavation Moms. Dr. Renna is the official Nutritional Coach to the Mamavation Moms and part of a small, pioneering group of physicians nationwide who have been certified by the American Board of Physician Nutrition Specialists. Which means she is “the” authority on nutrition and obesity prevention in families. We are very lucky to have her.
