What I have learned @beeacutie2

Being a mamavation mom has taught me so many things. I have learn so many things that I am know I had to learn in order to change my life around. I was so comfortable in my life and in my way of thinking that I never thought that I would need a huge life change. But the moment came in 2008 after my son was born I started to use food as an outlet to so many things. I ate when I was hungry, I ate when I was sad, I ate when I was happy, I ate when I was upset, I honestly just ate. I went from being 185 lbs to 256 lbs in a little over six months. Six months was all it took me to gain all that weight. I should of saw the way others treated me. The stares I got, but instead I chose to ignore them all. I made myself think I was happy. I did not for a long time making myself “happy”. It wasn’t until I noticed my husband not looking at me the way he used to I knew I had a problem. But know you have a problem and doing something about it, are two different things. This is when I joined Mamavation in hopes to cure my problem. I honestly believed that if I posted every week, I would lose weight become a mom get the tools I need and lose weight! Boy was I WRONG!
In Jan 2010 I applied to be the next Mamavation for all the WRONG reasons. I am so happy I did not make it into the top five I pushed myself hard to learn what mamavation was about, I became active in the sisterhood, and even learn how to lose weight the right way! I was so happy for the next campaign because I was ready to apply, when guess what happened the unthinkable I got pregnant! I now look back at everything that has happened and think wow this was all for the right reason. Because here I am now writing my last post as your Mamavation Mom. But here’s the thing I am not sad at all. I am so excited for the next part of my life. I am excited to see my boys more. Being a mamavation mom means being willing to give a part of yourself to mamavation. Am I sad, or mad I did NO WAY! I honestly am so glad I was able to! With mamavation I have learn something so important and that is called balance! There were many times I did my workouts while holding spencer in his moby, or at 11:00 pm at night because that is when it worked for me to get it done. You have to find your groove and honestly make it work for you! Exercising becomes your life! No really it does, I where my pedometer and gruve all the time (no not in bed yet 😉 when the gruve buzz at me I get up and move which by the way it already did as I have been writing this.  Here’s the thing, when I started I never thought I would have been able to do the exercises you are given, but guess what I have learn it is all in my head. I can do anything that I put my mind too. The EAS Active is an amazing Video Game; really I would not call it a video game, but a life style game, because that is what it is. EAS Active has changed my life! With it I have lost weight and inches! So thank you EAS Active I tell everyone about you! Also it so much fun to get mu hubby’s trash!
I have talked before about the tools we have gotten, and honestly those tools are amazing! Earth footwear shoes are amazing and if I can wear them all day long after chasing after a two year old then anyone can wear them! The best has to be wearing earth footwear at church and having all the ladies coming up and saying those are so cute what brand are those. I love being able to tell them, guess what they are also helping me lose weight! So thank you Earth footwear for your amazing shoes! Every day I am so lucky to be able to work out inside on my wonderful elliptical from fitstudio, I can recall a time where I could only do 5 mins on an elliptical now I am able to go 30 mins no problem. There are many times I am working out for an hour watching my TV show when my husband comes in and says “Amanda are you getting off your Elliptical tonight.” So Fitstudio thank you!
I have come to learn that my food was way off. Now I am a good cook ask anyone who knows me, I even went to college for it. (Yes patting my own back here) But here’s the thing you may not know, you are not really taught how to cook “healthy”. You are taught portions yes, but you cook everything in butter, oil, a fat you name it! So honestly not healthy cooker at all! Alysa taught me what true healthy cooking was, yes I am still not a fan or green bell peppers (sorry they taste like dirt to me) its ok because I now know what I can and cannot eat. I am aware of what is a lean meat or a fat full meat. What good veggies are and what are bad ones. As Broby would say in Yo Gabba Gabba “There’s a party in my tummy,” everyday! I love Almond milk, even though my friend Bea loves to tease me and say “Amanda you can’t milk an Almond.” It is still a dairy I can drink to get in my dairy for the day. Did you know you need three glasses of dairy a day to help you lose weight? Hello and what person besides Greta  wouldn’t love a nutrition plan that involves you eating steak once a week! Yep that’s right Chefs requested provided us enough steak to eat once a week. I wish I won steak for a real chef requested is that good! Now I can go out to eat and know what to order! These are things I will take with me after I am not a mom anymore.
I have learned how to love myself again. I have been able to hold my head high again and not be so worried at what others are thinking. Pete Cohen said to me something so simple and yet made me cry good tears. He said “Amanda I am proud of what you have done.” I sat there and thought about the phrase what you have done. I thought about it what have I done. With mamavation I have been able to do so many things. I have been able to lose weight, inches, but more importantly I have been able to gain friendship that will last a lifetime, tools that will last a life time, and also confidence in me. I am proud of how I am once again. I will not let myself go anymore, I will now always be willing to eat right, and exercise even when I do not want to.
Just because my time is time has come to a close does not mean it is an end. I will still be working out six days a week. I have my fitness plan all ready to go. I will still keep a nutation plan, and make sure I am eating right. I will still be tweeting with each one of you daily. I will still be drinking water like it is going out of style! I have a 5K to run on July 4th! I am excited to meet some of you in Austin Tx! I still have my size 6 pant goal and I know one day I will be there. That is my goal I have set for me! Each one us are different and I am so happy about that, because being different is why Mamavation works!

So i wonder if you remember these pictures?

Yep those where my lovely before pictures and now here are my afters!

For the last time I would like to thank all of our sponsors Earth Footwear, EA Sports Active, Chefs Requested, Fitstudio, and our wonderful Coaches Alysa Bajenaru, RD, Tracey Mallet, and Pete Cohen. You each have helped me in my weight lose journey thus far and I want you to know you will always be in my thoughts as I condition on.

Confidence! Yes! I don’t know if you saw my comment on Twitter but the big thing I noticed in your pictures is how you now carry yourself. You stand straight and proud versus slouched over. I love this! As for things learned, well, we’ll always have the potty dance..lol – Your reign as queen may be over but that just means it’s time to move onto even better things! You will always be an inspiration and the best mentor! You’re passionate about the subject and you love these ladies. I am so blessed to know you, even if you have all my info but don’t stalk me. 😉 Huge hugs!
