Fitcation–A Fitness Vacation for Moms

What exactly is Fitcation?

Fitcation is about spending time with other women who are into “imperfect” health…and learning more about it.

It means understanding that what we see on TV is an image of health. It’s not real.

“Health” is what we do…it’s not what we look like. Health is about role modeling behavior, it’s not about making people feel bad about their own bodies.

Fitcation is a vacation for moms that recognize that. It’s women of all shapes and sizes…and colors…and religions. All having a good time while honoring healthy themes.

Fitcation is about “imperfect” health. Real health. Health that is sustainable and forgiving. Health that is about role modeling and giving. Health that makes you want to come back for more. Not something that makes you feel inadequate. Fitcation is a celebration.

We had a blast this year. And in our “imperfect” theme we even drank a bit. 😉

We were supported by some amazing sponsors this year that really stepped it up to ensure we would have a great time. And we loved them for it. Cause let’s face it, it wouldn’t have been possible without them.

1. Dole, @DoleFoods
2. Leading Lady, @Leadingladybras
3. Four Seasons in Westlake, @FSWestlake
4. The California Health & Longevity Institute, @CHLI360health
5. New Balance, @NewBalance
6. Sip the Good Life, @Sipthegoodlife
7. Subway, @Subway

We were entertained in the poshest hotel in Northern Los Angeles, The Four Seasons. Thanks to the generosity of Dole, we each felt like we were part of “Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous.”

Dole also invited us to their headquarters, served us breakfast, and introduced us to all their products. We got to meet the people behind their twitter accounts and interact with some of their management.

Dole was an awesome host and main sponsor. We celebrated by tweeting #welovedole all weekend and some of us won cash to bring home.

We also exercised every morning and earned our good times. Getting our sweat out of the way in the morning gave us plenty of energy and allowed us to enjoy more good food and alcohol. Some of us even ended up losing weight this weekend.

We also tried things we’ve never done before. Some of us were natural hula hoopers while others just had lots of fun.

And we only do nutrition with the best. Alysa Bajenaru from InspiredRD led us in a live cooking class at Leah Segedie’s own home.  Watch for the recipes that were used during that dinner.

And we toured all over Los Angeles and spent time laughing, bonding, and having the times of our lives. I can’t wait till Fitcation 2013!
