Halloween is my favorite holiday. I like the the pumpkins, the spooky decor, and generally everything that comes with the season. It only seemed fitting that this week I make some organic recipes inspired by All Hallows’ Eve. It was a blast to create and test out my new recipes. These may look spooky, but you don’t need to be scared of this food. There are no GMOs lurking inside these frugal organic meals.
The trick to making this week’s organic menu within a budget was cooking from scratch. I made my own organic biscuits and pizza dough, and the savings were a treat. It was actually harder to find an organic pre-made option than to just make the doughs myself. You can eat these healthy and affordable organic meals and then satisfy your sweet tooth with some GMO-free candy to add to your stash. All together, all three of these frighteningly frugal organic meals came to $24.84. It just goes to show that eating organic on a budget is nothing to be afraid of. It’s completely achievable. Here’s the menu and cost for each meal:
Total: $24.72-$24.84 (price varies based on the actual amount of one ingredient used).
Here’s the printable shopping list for these three recipes. Print it out, do your shopping, and come back later in the week for each complete recipe and an itemized cost breakdown.
