The scene is probably very familiar: you’ve either just gotten off of work and swooped children from daycare or school, or you’ve been working all day from home and kids are pouring off the bus or getting picked up from a sitter. You realize what time it is, and you don’t have anything planned. So, you’re met with a decision: order take-out or make something frozen. Maybe you’re someone who plans really well, and you’ve had freezer meals set up for just this type of moment. Or maybe you’re not so much of a planner, and you’re stuck. Or maybe, just maybe, this is one of those days that you really thought you were prepared, but everything has gone down the drain. On our next Mamavation TV, we’re going to talk about quick, easy, and healthy recipes that your family can enjoy. We’ll be joined by two experts who will be able to supply you with some suggestions of what you can do to put good food on the table in a pinch.

Our Guests This Week
Jasmine Jafferali – Jasmine’s passion for health and well-being stems from her own childhood. While her love of cooking and baking from scratch came from her own mom’s kitchen, Jasmine grew up drinking pop (soda, Cola, Coke, whatever) and hating her veggies. In 2006, Jasmine was diagnosed with a gluten, soy, and dairy sensitivity that explained a number of symptoms: weekly migraines, digestive problems, acid-reflux and fatigue. Freeing herself of medication and living healthy, she now makes it her mission to help others heal themselves through diet and lifestyle changes. Liza Hawkins – Liza’s been blogging at (a)Musing Foodie for four years with a goal of appealing to the everyday foodie. She encourages folks to learn more about making tasty recipes that are simple enough to throw together on a weeknight, but that are also made from scratch. Over the past two years, her point of view on the blog has changed a bit. Liza’s still focused on fitting from-scratch meals into her family’s busy lifestyle; however, she’s shifted towards food that’s local, organic and GMO-free (whenever possible) and has shared the journey on her blog along the way. Make no mistake, Liza’s a big believer in practicality. Their move towards this healthier lifestyle hasn’t been quick, nor has it been perfect – they’re about 65-70% organic/unprocessed foods over there, and she’s okay with that (for now). The key is making educated and informed decisions! When she’s not donning her foodie blogger hat, Liza is a full-time marketing analyst for a national brand and serves on several non-profit boards in her hometown of Frederick, Maryland. In a couple months she’s uprooting her husband and two young kids to a small farm in central Maryland (about an hour west of Baltimore), where they’ll live a mere 100 feet from her parents – a good thing. They’re looking forward to acreage, organic gardens and lots of chickens at their fingertips!
