Last week, we talked about the cleaning products in our homes that most likely contain harmful chemicals. This week, we’re going to get a little more personal and talk about things like deodorant, lotion, shampoo, conditioner, and more.
Personal care products CAN be full of toxins, obesogens, and other chemicals that could potentially lead to disease such as obesity, cancer, genetic mutation, immune disorders, etc. After personal care products are placed on the skin, they go directly to the blood stream within 30-60 seconds. Americans are unaware that over one thousand ingredients present in conventional personal care products are banned or tightly regulated in European due to potential health hazards such as parabens, phthalates, formaldehyde, octinoxate, etc.
