As we get into the heart of fall, I always crave warm, rich meals, and those signature fall flavors. I wanted to create a menu of fall meals that incorporated these comfort foods while still being budget friendly and organic.
Last week’s menu was meat free, which is a great way to save money. However, meat is a big part of most people’s diets, so this week I was sure to incorporate some dishes that would satisfy the carnivore as well. I purchased the grass fed beef during a sale and tossed it in the freezer until I was ready to use it. This is a great way to always have some quality meat ready to go, and avoid running to the store last minute and overspending. Even with a filling fall breakfast and heartier lunch and dinner portions, I still came in under budget. Here is the full fall meals menu and costs:
Menu
Breakfast — Organic Pumpkin Spice French Toast $6.34
Lunch — Easy Organic French Dip Sandwiches with Broccoli Shells and Cheese $7.91
Dinner — Organic Shepherd’s Pie $10.50
Total: $24.75
Here’s a handy printable shopping list for these fall meals. Print it out, head off to the store, and come back later in the week for the complete recipes and an itemized cost breakdown.
Shopping List: Quantities are based off of the recipe amounts, not necessarily package sizes.
