Wellness is all about overall health, of the body, mind, and spirit. What better way to achieve this than to tap into your mind to make necessary changes? I spoke with Aimee Fuller, Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist, to learn the benefits of hypnotherapy and how it can help improve your life.
Aimee shared her top 5 benefits of hypnotherapy, and you might be surprised at all it can do for you.
Table of Contents
1. Release fears and/or phobias
(spiders, rats, flying, heights, people, germs, terrorists, dogs, failure, childbirth, etc…)
One of the main benefits of hypnotherapy is that it is extremely effective in releasing deeply held fear patterns and replacing them with a sense of peace and calm.
2. Overcome negative habits or “programming”
We all tend to get “stuck in a rut” at times with certain behaviors or thought processes that aren’t helping us. Hypnotherapy will help you release these unhelpful “programs” and create new possibilities!
3. Release stress and relax
Hypnosis activates the relaxation response which releases stress, lowers blood pressure, increases energy and even boosts your mood! Stress is so damaging to our bodies, taking time each day to actively release it with self-hypnosis will definitely lighten your load! (Visit Aimee’s website for tips on practicing self-hypnosis, or attend one of her self-hypnosis workshops)
4. Release trauma from the past
Life is full of ups and down. Sometimes an event can leave long lasting, seemingly permanent, damage to our psyche’s. Whether it was something from childhood (abuse, the death of a loved one, parent’s divorce) or in adulthood (death, divorce, accidents, war, etc) it can be healed and released using hypnotherapy. And even replaced with a new sense of peace and wholeness.
5. Healing the Body
The mind and body are connected. By tapping into and healing the mind, we can create healing in the body. From weight loss, to boosting immunity, to childbirth, to healing major disease, you can improve your health by improving your thinking at a subconscious mind.
Aimee also has some tips for using the benefits of hypnotherapy to help your little ones. Using the power of suggestion, you can help your child fall fast asleep. Aimee’s recommended tips and routine are as follows:
What works for us is a routine that we stick to every night. Bath (with lavender or chamomile essential oils), then put on pj’s and brush teeth, then we read 2-3 books. I pick out books that are about bedtime and sleep, and say the word sleep a lot and yawn. This is using the power of suggestion to give the child the message that it is sleepytime. Then lights out and snuggle until the child is asleep!
A lot of it is calming yourself down and transferring that sleepy, calm feeling to the child who will match your energy. I also send a message to the child both verbally and energetically that they are safe. A child is biologically programmed not to sleep apart from their protectors, so if children are resisting sleep, they may not feel safe. You can keep repeating softly, “You are safe. I’m here. You are safe and it is sleepy time (yawn). I’m so sleepy. I can see that you are sleepy. I see your eyes are sleepy. I can tell your body is sleepy. Your mind is sleepy. It’s time to sleep and you are safe.” Add in your own verbiage, and repeat as much as necessary. It’s almost as if you are giving them permission to sleep. You can see them relax and begin to melt…. Zzzzzzzz

I thought it was cool to learn that hypnotherapy can help reduce stress and increase your energy levels. I’ve been so stressed lately that I feel like it’s been making me fatigued. I wouldn’t mind getting hypnotherapy to see if it can make an improvement in my overall well-being.
Try it and let me know!!
