Mamavation has done a social media list of the Top 50 Most Influential Healthy Tweeps for two years in a row. This list ends up getting lots of traffic every year by brands and bloggers because the fitness/health niche is still generally new and in it’s infancy. We are just starting to get organized and professionalize ourselves. Most of us still have lots of learning to do, as does everyone because social media moves at the speed of light. But it’s an honor to be able to do this every year and to be a trusted source of so many.
The last two years finalists were determined by a vote. This year, we decided to make decisions via committee instead because voting is unpopular. Here are the lists from the last two years:
2011 Top 50 Most Influential Healthy Tweeps
2010 Top 50 Most Influential Healthy Tweeps
The Most Influential Healthy Tweep awards are for people who are on twitter using their voice for the benefit of health. Some of them are hardcore health advocates, athletes, trainers and nutritionists and others are people who focus on health in their own life as just a path they are on. Either way, we honor them here because they are inspiring others every day to live healthier.
Nominations
This list will be comprised completely of people YOU nominate. There are only 50 spots available. To nominate someone adjust this tweet.
I nominate @TWITTERNAME as one of the “Top 50 Most Influential Healthy Tweeps” on @Mamavation, http://bit.ly/TA3r9v #Top50HT
After you have tweeted, I’d love for you to share this contest on Facebook. Every year people come to me after all this is over saying I missed someone important. If you help me share, that is less likely to happen. Because again, I’m only considering people that are nominated. So if you don’t nominate them, they can’t get on the list. It’s simple. The deciding committee is made up of leaders in the Mamavation community that can NOT be on list.
We will be accepting nominations until December 1st and will make the announcement on who has made the list on December 3rd.
If you don’t want to tweet your nomination, you can put it in comments as well, but include their twitter name so we can find them please.
